Crowdfunding-based e-commerce for upcycled products

A crowdfunding-based e-commerce website developed by a six-person team. It connects donations of reusable materials with creators’ product campaigns, funding and backer rewards.

Background & purpose

This team project aimed to connect reusable materials with creators who could turn them into new products, while making it possible for supporters to fund that work. UPDA brought material donations, creator campaigns, crowdfunding, and rewards into one service.

Overview

The idea was to redirect discarded materials to creators who could reuse them and fund the production of new goods.

My contributions

Six-person team · Database design, campaign/product backend and selected frontend screens

Designed the database schema and relationships for the entire service

Implemented Spring Boot backend logic for campaign creation, editing and product management

Connected DTO, Entity, Repository and Service layers for campaign data workflows

Implemented image upload and management with Cloudflare Images

Built the campaign creation page in Thymeleaf and JavaScript and connected backend APIs

Implemented notification logic and related UI display

Approach

The project includes material donations, product crowdfunding, reward fulfillment support, live chat and eco-activity achievements.

Implementation and challenges

Designed consistent table relationships and campaign/product registration flows across multiple features, then implemented image uploads and front-to-back integration.
